7/9/07, 2:24 am - The boys lost the championship game in Anchorage 11-6.  I do not know many other details.  Mark maybe you can update if you are on the laptop this morning?

7/8/07, 2:10 pm - The boys came back scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th to beat Belmar, NJ 5-1.  Kyle Dahl took the complete game win, no earned runs.  AJ led the hitters with 3 singles, while Tim Mettert had 2, including a bases loaded/clearing triple.  Next game is the championship game tonight at 7:30.  The boys will also travel to Wasilla tomorrow to play that tournaments championship game at 1:00 pm, which was rained out last week.

7/7/07, 6:54 pm - The following is not a typo:  the boys scored 27 runs on 21 hits including a home run by Kyle Dahl, defeating West Post #1, 27-1.  Matt Bozoian and Kyle Prochno combined for a 4 hitter.  West Post helped the cause with 12 errors in the game.  The boys needed a 16 run differential to guarantee a spot tomorrow, mission accomplished.

7/7/07, 5:00 pm - Our game has been delayed, apparently one of the umpires is trapped in an outhouse by a moose..... Only in Alaska....

7/6/07, 10:19 pm - The boys came from behind scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat South 6-5, according to Mr. Peck the best team in Alaska.  Tim Mettert took the win, pitching 6 strong innings, and Pauly Giel shut them down in the 7th for the save.  Next game is tomorrow at 5 PM.

7/6/07, 7:52 pm - After jumping out to a 8 run lead in the first inning Chugiak AK cruised to a 14-8 win in the first game of the evening.  The boys kept chipping away scoring 1 in the 4th, 3 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th before the game was called due to the time limit.  Next game up is against South Legion Post 4 as soon as the field is set!

7/5/07, 2:14 pm - The boys did it, defeating Belmar, NJ 3-2 in the final game in Kenai, taking the tournament championship.  Taylor Nelson took the win throwing 5 strong innings and Paul Giel got the save.  Now it's back to the left field deck for fish and reindeer sausage before heading to Anchorage!

7/4/07, 9:24 pm - After the second game against Kenai last night the locals threw the boys a feast:  freshly caught halibut, reindeer sausage (they didn't know that until after they ate it), ribs, homemade baked beans, key lime pie, apple pie, and much more.  A fantastic meal, and great hospitality from the home team.

7/4/07, 8:12 pm - Just an update with some more info on the championship... We need to hold NJ to 5 runs or less to take the crown tomorrow.  Well keep you posted.  And the Moms will be happy to know that Ray, Daryl and I are at the laundromat doing the boys pants tonight!

7/4/07, 6:02 pm - The boys won the 2nd game 7-4, Alex Satterfield picking up the win and Anthony Gross completing the game in relief.  Next game is at noon tomorrow against Belmar, NJ, a win would give us the championship based on runs scored against Kenai.

7/4/07, 2:11 pm - The boys could only muster up 6 hits in a 3-1 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against Kenai Post 20.  Matt Bozoian pitched a strong 5+ innings giving up only 2 earned runs, both in the first inning.  Next game is in 2 hours, the boys are pounding pizza now.

7/3/07, 4:50 pm - The boys won the first game against Belmar, NJ 10-1, Kyle Dahl complete game no earned run victory, 8 K's.  Doubleheader tomorrow.  We'll be grilling about 25 ponds of salmon for the boys tonight!
